especially a really heart-wrenching one. bonus points for parallels like: they show a scene of derek as a kid and laura waking him up in the morning, everything is warm and honey-colored and derek smiles, and then they cut to derek waking up alone in his cold subway car or whatever dark, dank place he’s taken refuge in for the time being, derek alone with nothing but the drip of the pipes overhead to keep him company. or a scene with derek interacting with isaac or scott or the other betas and it ending with the general mistrust and avoidance that they show one another only for them to cut to a scene of derek with his family, derek fitting perfectly into his own little niche, derek belonging and feeling needed, loved. 

i want them to show me everything that derek had so i can feel everything that he lost. i want my mitochondria to weep with the sadness that permeates my being because derek hale loved and was loved in return once, derek hale smiled and laughed and slept soundly, derek hale wasn’t always this way, dammit.
